Bluegrass power trio Barnyard Tea

Barnyard Tea brings you rowdy, stomping bluegrass. They combine style, class and a whiff of rock & roll in their Dutch approach to an American tradition. The three blond-haired men focus their arrangements around vocal harmony and the use of authentic instruments. They have been seen playing mandolins, banjos, dobros, guitars and of course a good old double bass.Edin Najetovic, Frank de Boer and Joost Abbel have been making music together since high school in Alkmaar. They started Barnyard Tea in 2012, when all three of them were living in Amsterdam, out of a joint passion for roots and bluegrass music. Soon they were performing all across Europe, playing hundreds of shows in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy.After releasing two EPs with traditionals and covers the band started writing their own music. Spending the summer of 2023 in the studio together with producer Merlijn Verboom and a host of guest musicians, they recorded a 20 song double album dubbed Train, which will come out on CD and streaming services on May 24.

Our album Train provides a ticket to a bygone world of enterprise, grit and ludicrous beats per minute. Part one of Barnyard Tea’s Americana epic tribute to the railroad, Engine explores the vibrant urgency of the new world. Transport yourself to a place where preachers warn of sin and the old must fall to make way for the new along the tracks. Part two, Memories lays bare the yearning for somewhere that never has been. A more melancholy look at the glories and mistakes of the past, and the traveling we do both in time and distance.Train will be out on all major streaming services on May 24. Bluegrass power trio Barnyard Tea

Barnyard Tea maakt dansbare, rauwe bluegrass. Met stijl, klasse en een vleugje rock & roll hebben ze een geheel eigen benadering van Amerikaanse traditie. De drie blonde mannen arrangeren hun muziek rondom solide samenzang en authentieke instrumenten zoals mandoline, banjo, dobro, gitaar en natuurlijk de contrabas.Edin Najetovic, Frank de Boer en Joost Abbel begonnen Barnyard Tea in 2012 vanuit hun gedeelde passie voor bluegrass en rootsmuziek. Al snel viel de band op in de kleine podia van hun thuisstad Amsterdam. De rest van het land en Europa lonkten. Sinds de zomer van 2012 gaven ze honderden shows in Nederland, België, Duitsland, Zwitserland en Italië.Na twee EP's met covers en traditionals begon de band met het schrijven van eigen muziek. In de zomer van 2023 doken ze de studio in met een aantal gastmuzikanten en producer Merlijn Verboom en namen ze twintig nummers op voor dubbelalbum Train, dat uitkomt op cd en streaming op 24 mei.

Een melancholieke reis, langs oude herinneringen en wonden, in zowel tijd als afstand.Train komt uit op alle grote streamingdiensten op 24 mei.
